Historic England

Where Light Falls

Over 14 months I project managed Historic England’s largest public artwork to date, Where Light Falls (2019).

Historic England worked with the Poetry Society and leading creatives Double Take Projections to tell the story of those who risked their lives to protect the places they loved during the Second World War, at two cathedrals with opposing fates – London’s St Paul’s survived the Blitz largely intact whilst the medieval Coventry Cathedral could not be saved.

Stunning projections transformed the façades and precincts of St Paul’s Cathedral and Coventry Cathedral after dark, combining specially commissioned poetry with powerful visuals and archive photography.

More than 23,000 people attended in London and Coventry to witness the spectacular installations telling incredible stories.

Featuring poets Keith Jarrett and Jane Commane.
